The Process
Once the customer has clearly identified the governing factors of the drum, it is off to the drawing board. Using CAD software, I accurately determine the geometry used to form the raw lumber into what will be a drum shell. Outside of the rather dry geometrical layout, 3D renderings of the drum can also be developed. Detail can include the finished drum shell, mounting lugs, tension rods, drum heads, counter hoops and any other aspect required to give the customer a realistic view of what is going to emerge.
